Job Summary:

This position involves providing patient care and surgery, as well as teaching and research responsibilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for training medical students, house staff, and fellows, and will provide neurosurgical services for UW Health. They will also collaborate with other faculty members in the neurological surgery and spine programs.

The position requires a strong clinical and research interest in spine neurosurgery, and the ability to develop an independent research program. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service, and will be expected to present results at meetings and in publications.

Responsibilities:
Provide patient care and surgery
Teach and train medical students, house staff, and fellows
Conduct research and develop an independent research program
Collaborate with other faculty members in the neurological surgery and spine programs
Participate in professional, public, and university service
Present results at meetings and in publications

Education:
Terminal degree (MD or DO) is required
Fellowship training in spine neurosurgery is preferred
Clinical and research interest in spine neurosurgery is preferred

License/Certification:
MD - Physician - State Licensure is required
Must be eligible for WI State Medical License
ABNS - American Board of Neurological Surgery is required
Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified

Additional Information:
The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
