Job Overview:

Bristol Pharmacy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist in Charge to oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy department.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
  • Oversee the accurate dispensing of medications and adherence to proper procedures while ensuring compounding and labeling processes are followed.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care and medication therapy management.
  • Provide drug information to healthcare professionals and patients.
  • Conduct medication utilization reviews to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and make recommendations for therapy adjustments as needed.
  • Participate in medical activities.
  • Maintain aseptic technique in sterile compounding areas.
  • Provide clinical support in acute care settings such as the emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU).
  • Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology and patient service.
  • Monitor medication inventory levels and order medications as needed.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years retail pharmacy experience.
  • Active pharmacy license in the state of CT.
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
  • Immunization certification through an accredited organization.
  • No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
  • Bachelor of science in Pharmacy or Pharm. D. degree.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Experience working in a specialty pharmacy.
  • Experience with compounding medication.
  • Familiar with PrimeRX/Micro Merchant pharmacy software.
  • Familiar with BestRX pharmacy software.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75.00 per hour

Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed

License/Certification: Licensed Pharmacist
