Psychiatric Technician III Correctional Health Specialist

**Job Summary**
The Los Angeles County Department of Health Services is seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician III to join our team in the Correctional Facilities. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialized services to deliver mental health treatment to clients in a jail environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interview clients, family members, and friends to gather information about their environment, personality, and relationships that may impact their illness and treatment.
- Makes program services referrals for individuals identified as mentally ill.
- C coordiantes or conducts auditing of client records for compliance with documentation guidelines.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team conferences, provides and documents continuing care and information, and collaborates with other mental health staff to develop effective treatment plans.
- Provides consultation to community agencies on the utilization of mental health and support services provided by directly operated clinics, in-patient facilities, and contractors.
- Administers prescribed medications to clients in acute psychiatric settings.
- Coordinates activities of service teams with law enforcement, courts, schools, and other agencies to assist and evaluate clients deemed a danger to themselves or others.
Requirements:
- Two years of experience at the level of Psychiatric Technician II in the County of Los Angeles.
- A valid and active license as a Psychiatric Technician issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs, Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
