At Ross Stores, we are seeking a highly skilled Store Security Guard to join our team

The ideal candidate will provide a visible presence at Store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with the Store team.

The Store Security Guard will be responsible for monitoring entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft, gathering theft indicators, and using internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends. They will also work closely with Store Leadership and Loss Prevention Leadership to ensure compliance with Company policies and directives.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a high school education or equivalent, one year of retail supervisor experience or similar training, and one year of loss prevention/security training. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, have strong communication skills, and be able to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a visible presence at Store entrances/exits, mitigating theft and fraud and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers.
  • Monitor entrances/exits and sales floor for potential theft, gathering theft indicators, and using internal or external intelligence to impact shortage trends.
  • Work closely with Store Leadership and Loss Prevention Leadership to ensure compliance with Company policies and directives.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Store team, including Associates and Leaders.
  • Provide excellent Customer service, responding to Customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.

Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • One year of retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred.
  • One year of loss prevention/security training preferred.
  • Active Security Guard License preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with the Store team.
  • Excellent Customer service skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including but not limited to, additional background screening, physical examination, fingerprinting and/or drug and alcohol testing.

Physical Requirements:

  • Consistent timeliness and regular attendance.
  • Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store.
  • Must be able to raise or lower objects more than 25 lbs. from one level to another (includes upward pulling).
  • Must be able to regularly bend, stoop, or crouch (frequency and duration will vary per daily business need).

Salary: $17.28-$17.78 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
