We are seeking a dedicated professional with expertise in Operational Excellence (OPEX) within Manufacturing Procedures, particularly in identifying, developing, and executing Lean Initiatives. This role is essential for those looking to contribute significantly to a leading organization.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Operational Excellence Engineer is responsible for spearheading initiatives related to Operational Excellence (OpX). This role involves collaborating with the production team to enhance, implement, and sustain manufacturing processes, with a strong emphasis on Lean Principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Addressing safety, environmental, and ergonomic challenges.
- Programming and troubleshooting robotic systems.
- Optimizing processes for improved efficiency.
- Evaluating and executing employee suggestions for enhancement.
- Designing and implementing innovative processes.
- Conducting cost analyses and driving cost-saving measures.
- Leading Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Providing support on the shop floor and developing processes for new products.
- Performing capacity studies to ensure operational efficiency.
Typical Duties May Include:
- Driving the implementation of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing programs for Operational Excellence, while monitoring and communicating progress.
- Developing and overseeing project management processes.
- Identifying and prioritizing key improvement opportunities by analyzing waste and inefficiencies.
- Supporting problem-solving and performance enhancement projects across the organization.
- Training and coaching staff in Lean methodologies.
- Managing a team of Kaizen Technicians to facilitate rapid improvements.
- Coordinating training programs to enhance staff competencies in World Class Operations and Lean best practices.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Fostering a culture where Continuous Improvement is a core organizational value.
- Assisting in the development and maintenance of key process documentation to convert tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge, including standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Understanding Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) concepts, analyzing data, and creating useful reports for production and maintenance.
- Identifying potential capital projects aimed at process enhancement and automation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the manufacturing sector, with a proven track record in Operational Excellence initiatives.
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with MRP systems (SAP preferred) and Shop Floor Control systems (MES preferred).
- Experience as a Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing Change Agent.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
