Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team at Sacramento Behavioral Healthcare Hospital. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in providing direct patient care to individuals with emotional or psychiatric disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in treatment planning, identifying patients' problems, needs, and strengths, and suggesting modifications to treatment plans based on observations of patients' behavior.
  • Implement patients' treatment plans by monitoring their progress, communicating information regarding their behavior to other members of the treatment team, and maintaining communication with patients, family members, and referral sources.
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as orienting new patients to the unit, program, and milieu, and maintaining a safe, orderly, and therapeutic physical environment.
  • Participate in maintaining the therapeutic milieu on the unit, enforcing the level system or other methods of behavior management, and documenting patient, program, department, and related information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR certification or obtained within 60 days of hire.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification or equivalent as approved by the Chief Nursing Officer, obtained within 60 days of hire.
