Join Westminster St. Augustine, a Life Plan Community, as a Speech Therapist in our Health Center. As a member of our Therapy Team, you will provide patient/resident assessment, care planning, direct treatment, and consultation to a general rehab caseload. Your responsibilities will include participating in the Interdisciplinary team process, providing teaching and training to caregiver staff, and involvement in clinical program development. You will also supervise other licensed therapists, assistants, technicians, aides, and students as required. The Speech Therapist must comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines related to employment with Westminster Services and its communities. This includes evaluating, diagnosing, and treating cognitive, swallowing, speech, and language disorders or communication efficiencies following MD orders. You will conduct assessments and screens to determine therapy needs, enter the system Plan of Care that meets resident's needs, develop and provide caregiver training to current staff, maintain timely and accurate documentation, and perform resident screening during the admission process, quarterly, and annual screening to determine the need for therapy. The essential qualifications for this position include a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology and Professional Licensure where required by state law; two years clinical experience preferred. You must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills, utilize effective time management skills, and be able to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers. You must also have strong oral and written communication skills. The physical activities of this position involve balancing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, pulling, standing, manual dexterity, pushing, stooping, grasping, and lifting up to 40 lbs. You will be exposed to inside/outside environmental conditions, bloodborne pathogens, and respiratory pathogens. You must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of this position. Licenses and certifications required include a Speech Therapist license.
