Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a curriculum tailored to the developmental needs of toddlers, promoting their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of toddlers, offering guidance and support to their families.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy educational setting, complying with all relevant licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators and support staff to create and implement daily activities that cater to the unique needs of each child.
  • Maintain effective communication with families, providing updates on their child's development and achievements.
  • Keep accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental milestones.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in staff meetings to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.
  • Oversee and mentor junior educators to ensure high standards of teaching.
  • Conduct parent-teacher conferences.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a CDA is required; an AA or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
  • Career Pathways Level 3 certification is desirable for this role.
  • At least one year of experience in a licensed childcare program is required.
  • Must pass a background check and possess a current physical.
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for young children.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Dependable, compassionate, and capable of creating a warm and responsive environment for children and families.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and a reliable attendance record.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the United States.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on child-sized furniture for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and move children weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a moderately noisy environment.
  • Preparedness to assist children in emergency situations.
  • Physical ability to stay within close proximity to children for safety.
  • Participation in safety drills and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Ability to endure varying outdoor conditions and temperatures.
