Job Title: EMS Quality Manager

Alamance County, NC is seeking a highly skilled EMS Quality Manager to oversee the quality management program for the EMS department.

Job Summary:

The EMS Quality Manager will work directly with the EMS Director and Medical Director to recognize successes and areas for improvement in the levels of care provided. This individual will work with all players in the EMS system to ensure the highest level of care is provided.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinating the peer review process for the Alamance County EMS System.
  • Reviewing EMS Prehospital Care records to monitor for both individual and system successes and areas needing improvement.
  • Collecting and reporting data monthly, quarterly and yearly as requested by the EMS Director and Medical Director.
  • Working with other quality management specialists from the communications center, fire departments, hospitals and other partnering agencies to ensure quality service is delivered.
  • Attending STEMI, Trauma, Stroke and other regular meetings to review data and performance from EMS and hospital systems.
  • Updating the CARES Registry weekly to ensure the most up-to-date cardiac arrest data is available for review.
  • Ensuring compliance concerning HIPPA and other privacy rules for Alamance County EMS.
  • Periodically responding to calls to observe and assist with care as it is being delivered.
  • Assisting in the management of the prehospital call reporting software (ESO).
  • Working in conjunction with the EMS Training Officer to develop individual or system wide just-in-time trainings when deficiencies are noted.
  • Providing and assisting in on scene medical care as a highly competent paramedical level provider within the Alamance EMS System.
  • Serving as an expert in understanding and advising EMS providers, as well as other providers (such as rescue or fire services) in understanding and adhering to clinical care protocols and policies.
  • Traveling to national, state-wide, and local EMS conferences and trainings.
Qualifications:
  • Completion of an approved Paramedic Program, associate's degree in EMS or a related field.
  • Five years of paramedic level experience as a nationally certified or state credentialed paramedic, required.
  • Prior quality experience is preferred.
  • Possession of a valid NC driver's license.
  • Crisis Intervention Training (within one year).
  • NC Paramedic certified.
