The Fitness Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling memberships to potential new members and selling renewals/upgrades to current gym members.
Key Responsibilities:- Sales Generation: Generates sales through company-sponsored and employee-sponsored initiatives.
- Record Keeping: Maintains accurate records of all company-sponsored and employee-sponsored activities.
- Prospect Follow-up: Follows up on all prospects using established sales systems.
- Gym Tours: Conducts gym tours using established sales systems.
- Telephone Inquiries: Conducts telephone inquiries using established sales systems.
- Community Outreach: Establishes and maintains a minimum of 10 lead boxes/bowls in the community on a monthly basis.
- Referral Program: Establishes and maintains a minimum required referral program as defined by company standards.
- Sales Planning: Maintains a sales planner using established sales systems.
- Product Knowledge: Must be current on company pricing and promotion schedule.
- Club Information: Maintains information on club history, background, philosophy, facilities, staff, and policies.
- Company Policies: Has a thorough knowledge of, adheres to, and enforces company policies and procedures as they pertain to gym operations.
- Sales Development: Assumes responsibility for developing selling skills.
- Team Collaboration: Prepares for, attends, and actively participates in sales meetings.
- Staff Support: Maintains a positive relationship with the rest of the staff and supports other staff in achieving their goals.
- Meetings and Training: Participates in all scheduled meetings as directed by the General Manager or Assistant General Manager.
- Training and Development: Successfully completes the FC Training courses.
- Education: High school diploma and some college course completion required. College degree, either Associate or Bachelor's preferred.
- Sales and Communication Skills: Excellent sales, communication, and customer service skills.
- Testing and Evaluation: Must be able to successfully pass all testing requirements, including gym tours, telephone inquiry, counselor planner audit, guest card audit, lead box/bowl program, referral program, and corporate outreach program.
- Performance Metrics: Ability to achieve acceptable level of units per month.
- System Knowledge: Thorough understanding of company membership sales systems.
- Report Analysis: Demonstrated understanding of the Daily Sales Stat report and its contents.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills.
