As a Medical Imaging Coordinator at Neurosurgical Group of Texas, you will play a critical role in managing imaging authorizations and referrals. This involves reviewing requests/orders, processing prior authorizations, generating orders, and assisting patients with scheduling.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Review and process imaging requests from physicians.
  • Verify prior authorization requirements per patient's insurance coverage.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for services ordered such as CTs, MRIs, and other diagnostic imaging.
  • Communicate with patients regarding the status of their prior authorizations.
  • Coordinate appointment scheduling with patients at various facilities, communicate appointment details to patients.
  • Ensure that documentation is detailed and recorded in the patients medical record.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records of referral activities.
  • Perform other billing duties as assigned by management.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years experience working as a prior authorization specialist, imaging coordinator, or referral coordinator.
  • Experience in Neurosurgery, Orthopedic Surgery, or Spine Surgery is preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of ICD10 and CPT codes.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
  • Proficiency in Nextgen software is highly desired.
  • Excellent Microsoft Skills.

This position offers an estimated annual salary of $75,000 - $100,000, depending on experience. Benefits include Monday - Friday work schedule, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, 401K with Safe Harbor Contribution, paid time off, holiday pay, and competitive salary.
