Laboratory Analyst I

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Analyst I to join our team at SGS. As a Laboratory Analyst I, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing samples with accuracy and precision in accordance with SGS' analytical SOPs.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze samples using instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies.
- Perform microscopic analysis of bulk samples using PLM for asbestos, and analysis of air samples using PCM for airborne asbestos.
- Assist with investigation and preparation of responses to client inquiries and CARs.
- Input and maintain technical information as needed to support laboratory functions/operations.
- Maintain Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
- Associate Degree in a Geology/Biology or similar scientific discipline and 0-2 years of experience in Built Environment Lab OR 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. Sample Prep) (Required)
- Bachelor's Degree in a Geology/Biology or similar scientific discipline and 1-2 years of years' relevant experience in Built Environment Laboratories (Preferred)
- Advanced English language skills (Required)
- Basic reasoning and mathematical skills (Required)
- Basic computer skills (Required)
- Ability to lift/carry/push and/or pull upwards of 25 lbs on a frequent basis (Required)
