Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Technical Architect to join our team at Resource Informatics Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions for our clients, leveraging their expertise in Mainframe technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain formal strategies, sourcing guidance, technical standards, blueprints, reference architectures, architecture patterns, and technology roadmaps for Mainframe solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of technology projects, ensuring successful completion within the assigned architecture domain.
  • Define and manage team structure and resource levels to support business needs of the functional area.
  • Analyze and estimate feasibility and compatibility of solutions with existing Enterprise Architecture, guiding decision makers toward the final solution architecture.
  • Conduct industry and market research of technologies and general themes in assigned architecture areas.
  • Engage with agency subject matter experts, business liaisons, and OITS representatives to ensure proper alignment between business and IT.
  • Integrate Mainframe applications with distributed applications using web services, RESTful services, FTP, and SFTP.
  • Demonstrate expertise in working technologies COBOL, CICS, TSO, MVS JCL, ENDEVOR, CA Tools, SQL, DB2, and VSAM.
  • Analyze existing Image Plus and FAF application metadata and content, including OAM Group tables, OAM admin tables, and FAF application tables.
  • Migrate metadata and content (binary data) from OAM and FAF tables to distributed platforms.
  • Understand storage solutions using Disk and Virtual Tape systems on Mainframe.
