Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with various operational teams regarding all facets of O&M financial outcomes and forecasts.
  • Generate and uphold reports that encompass both summaries of financial performance and valuable supporting details.
  • Convert business requirements, activities, and agreements into pro-forma financial forecasts.
  • Conduct regular meetings with operational teams to collect financial updates, adjust forecasts, and clarify actual results. Annually, collaborate with operational teams to prepare all elements of the yearly budget.
  • Work alongside Accounting departments to elucidate transactions, clarify discrepancies, and investigate issues.
  • Guide non-Financial departments on topics such as invoice categorization, time tracking, and labor calculations, as well as vendor accruals.
  • Establish strong relationships with key budget holders to ensure ongoing communication and enhance collaboration.
  • Meet stringent deadlines and adapt to ad hoc projects with minimal notice.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or budgeting/forecasting is required.
  • A Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Ability to interpret financial data into actionable insights for operational teams to facilitate decision-making and performance management.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, including the effective use of visuals and the communication of key messages and summaries.
  • Familiarity with financial statements, including the ability to trace transactions from journal entries to line items. Knowledge of GAAP is preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, capable of engaging with various organizational levels and stakeholders with differing financial literacy.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and overall Microsoft Office suite. Experience with Oracle Planning & Budgeting is advantageous.
