The Patient Access Representative plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient flow and a positive patient experience within our medical office. This position requires exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:Procedure Reviews and Documentation:- Review patient charts to ensure all necessary information for procedures is accurately documented.
- Correspond and collaborate with medical coders to ensure complete and adequate documentation is in patient charts for previous and upcoming procedures.
- Assist with scheduling of day surgery procedures.
- Facilitate communication between our office and day surgery.
- Ensure all necessary orders and paperwork is completed accurately and promptly.
- Verify insurance coverage for new patients and confirm eligibility for services.
- Communicate insurance details to patients and review of copay/balance that will be due at time of visit.
- Provide clear explanations of charges and payment options available.
- Collaborate with medical providers, medical assistants, and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
- Relay pertinent patient information and updates to ensure continuity of care.
- Update electronic medical records with accurate patient information and treatment details.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations in handling patient records.
