Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Lead Barista to join our team at Barnes & Noble. As a key member of our cafe team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer experiences, coaching and developing our baristas, and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Model excellent customer service and provide training to baristas on how to deliver first-class service.
  • Ensure a welcoming and well-stocked cafe environment that meets our high standards.
  • Understand customer needs and provide recommendations to improve operations and drive sales.
  • Coach and provide feedback to baristas to help them grow and develop in their roles.
  • Solve problems efficiently and effectively, and provide support to colleagues as needed.
  • Engage customers in the store through initiatives such as sampling and promotions.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational standards, safety and health codes, and loss prevention procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and uphold the values of Barnes & Noble through fair and consistent feedback and respectful accountability.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a senior barista or barista role, with a proven track record of delivering excellent customer service and driving sales growth.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of cafe operations and business principles, with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the cafe manager and other team members to achieve sales goals and improve customer satisfaction.
