The role of Accounting Manager is integral to the Capstone Warehouse Services (CWS) division's accounting team, reporting directly to the Senior Accounting Manager. Capstone specializes in crafting supply chain solutions across warehouse management, freight logistics, distribution support, and last mile delivery. With an impressive annual revenue exceeding $1.5 billion, Capstone collaborates with a diverse array of partners, from Fortune 100 enterprises to small-scale manufacturing and distribution networks. Our primary sectors include retail, consumer packaged goods, food and beverage, healthcare, and automotive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Senior Accounting Manager to design and enhance processes and controls for the collection, analysis, verification, and reporting of financial data.
  • Oversee and manage the daily activities of the accounting staff.
  • Provide training and mentorship to accounting personnel.
  • Refine and uphold the company's financial policies and procedures.
  • Supervise or execute monthly and quarterly tax reporting.
  • Manage or conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong management and supervisory capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership and management experience.
  • Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Education and Experience

  • Public accounting experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a management role is essential.
  • A Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited institution is necessary.
  • At least 6 years of progressive accounting experience is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics/Great Plains is advantageous.
  • Prior experience with large firms or corporations is essential.

License and Certification:

  • CPA certification is preferred.
