Role Overview:

The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medical consultations, routine patient care, and follow-up as required. This position necessitates specific competencies related to the population served and adherence to National Patient Safety Goals, tailored to the level of patient interaction involved.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments.
  • Order laboratory tests, radiological examinations, and other standard diagnostic procedures.
  • Identify actual or potential health issues based on data analysis and formulate therapeutic interventions.
  • Prescribe and initiate appropriate medications, treatments, and consultations based on collected data.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunizations, suturing (excluding tendons, arteries, or nerves), wound care, and manage uncomplicated conditions resulting from infections, trauma, or other diseases.
  • Provide patient education regarding prescribed treatments and medications.
  • Report to the supervising physician and Operations Manager in Practice Management.
  • Be aware of potential physical demands and respiratory fit test requirements. Consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for further details. There is a potential risk of exposure to infections, communicable diseases, blood and body fluids, electrical equipment, and chemicals. Adherence to standard precautions is mandatory.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current Oklahoma Nurse Practitioner license.
  • Current BLS Certification.
  • Effective communication skills in English.
