About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Professional to join our team at WellSpan Health. As a Behavioral Health Technician III, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents in our inpatient program.

Job Summary:

  • Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to develop and execute individual treatment plans for clients.
  • Provide day-to-day oversight of all therapeutic activities, ensuring a stable and smooth operation of the program.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions utilizing a range of techniques to treat mental illness, emotional problems, social and interpersonal issues, and functional deficits.
  • Maintain awareness of significant client history, present status, and any precautions in effect, collaborating with staff to provide input into treatment plans for individual clients.
  • Orient family members to the nature of therapeutic services and the specific program, promoting positive family relations and effective parental strategies.
  • Exhibit clinically appropriate relational skills, manage behavioral crises, and write behavioral management plans for acute patients in cooperation with treatment team recommendations.
  • Complete assessments as needed, assist with medication administration and recording, communicate relevant client progress, and participate in weekly treatment team planning.
  • Maintain on-going professional relationships with personnel from schools, public agencies, and mental health and drug and alcohol treatment facilities.
  • Address and resolve client funding matters, conduct inter-agency meetings as necessary, and collaborate in appropriate treatment and discharge plans with clients, guardians, and community agencies.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A bachelor's degree in a clinical discipline, such as social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, or activity therapies.
  • At least one year of experience in behavioral health or a related field, or one year of social science experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification upon hire and a valid driver's license.
  • Excellent human relations and oral/written communication skills, analytical skills, organization and time management, and teaching ability.
