About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Charge Nurse RN to oversee daily operations on assigned units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. This is a full-time position requiring 80 hours biweekly with day shifts, including 8- and 12-hour rotations.

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles, and be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) upon hire. Our team is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care, and we strive to maintain a safe and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide additional supervision of daily operations on assigned units.
  2. Oversee the successful delivery of quality patient care to a group of patients.
  3. Coordinate with the Administrative Coordinator on patient placement.
  4. Provide direct patient care at an experienced practitioner level as needed.
  5. Work with the Assistant Nurse Manager to ensure adequate staffing levels and skill mix are maintained for all shifts through the development, preparation, and maintenance of staffing schedules that meet department/unit needs.
  6. Makes appropriate adjustments/assignments to maximize timely patient care, looking to staffing needs into the next matrix.
  7. Directs and delegates patient care assignments to staff based on acuteness of patient care needs, staff availability, and patient safety.
  8. Prioritizes and organizes work, actively participating in the performance appraisal process by providing input for staff evaluations.
  9. Holds staff accountable for performance standards, assists with interviewing, and mediates staff conflicts and provides feedback concerning performance, behavior, etc.
  10. Collaborates with the Nurse Manager and the Assistant Nurse Manager on areas of need on the unit.
  11. Anticipates and resolves patient/family concerns in a timely manner, keeps patients and families informed.
  12. Protects patient confidentiality by promoting professional staff communications.
  13. Serves as a resource and role model/mentor to charge nurses and staff.
  14. Requisitions supplies and equipment, maintenance and repair services, and prepares related forms.
