Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiac Catheterization Specialist to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for assisting physicians with invasive cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterizations, angioplasties, and stent placements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and organize equipment and sterile trays for procedures
  • Assist procedure room team with patient positioning and preparation
  • Calibrate and test transducers for accurate pressure readings
  • Assist physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures
  • Load and operate power injectors and associated sterile support equipment
  • Calibrate hemodynamic monitoring equipment and obtain, calculate, and analyze hemodynamic data
  • Calculate and record cardiac output and oximetry readings
  • Utilize and maintain digital cine technologies, including protocols for storage and retrieval of patient images and hemodynamic records
  • Assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure devices
  • Adhere to practice requirements related to Clinical Cardiovascular Information Systems (CVIS)
  • Manage inventory control, maintain PAR levels, and prepare required equipment for procedures
  • Operate equipment safely and prepare and care for equipment
  • Recognize and interpret cardiac arrhythmias
  • Assist with maintenance, calibration, and routine periodic evaluation of diagnostic and technical equipment
  • Participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives
  • Promote and support efforts enhancing patient experience
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards
  • Precept new cardiovascular technologists and ancillary team members
  • Ensure competencies include program expansions and current offerings
  • Help drive efficiency metrics by reporting and motivating team performance
  • Assist with special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technologist program or radiologic technologist program
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platform
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in health science field
  • Prior experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory or invasive procedure area
  • Hemodynamic monitoring and sterile operative techniques
Licenses and Certifications
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 3 months of employment
  • RCIS exam given by CCI or Radiologic Technologist License within 1 year of hire
