About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer with a strong background in Plumbing Design to join our team at Meade Engineering.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and documenting mechanical and plumbing systems for various projects, including data centers, industrial buildings, offices, and other high-profile construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and document mechanical and plumbing systems for projects
  • Write and edit mechanical equipment specifications, select equipment, mechanical systems, and devices
  • Review submittals, RFIs, change orders, prepare record drawings, conduct site visits, inspections, and participate in commissioning work
  • E nsure jobs are completed accurately, within deadlines, and on budget
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field
  • Skills in HVAC design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, load software, etc.
  • Familiarity with HVAC codes, standards, and best practices
  • Good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Top-notch organization, attention to detail, combined with excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications

We welcome applicants with:

  • Proficiency in BIM, CFD, Energy Modeling, or other advanced tools and methods for HVAC design and analysis
  • Certification from ASHRAE, LEED, or other relevant organizations
  • Experience in green building or energy efficiency projects, such as LEED, ENERGY STAR, or USGBC
  • Commissioning experience
  • Active PE License
  • Plumbing design experience
