Safety Monitor

BronxWorks is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Safety Monitor to join our team. As a Safety Monitor, you will be responsible for ensuring the security and safety of our facilities and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Security and Access Control: Ensure the security of the premises and perform access control duties to maintain a safe and secure environment.
- Foot Patrols: Conduct regular and frequent foot patrols of the entire facility to identify and address potential security risks.
- Policies and Procedures: Enforce facility, BronxWorks, and Department of Homeless Services policies to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
- Problem Resolution: Promptly advise supervisors of problems and concerns, and take appropriate action to resolve issues.
- Order and Safety: Maintain order and promote safety in all areas of the facility.
- Professionalism: Act professionally and as a role model for clients, especially during crisis or conflict situations.
- Emergency Response: Respond appropriately and effectively to physical or verbal altercations between clients, medical emergencies, and situations of child abuse and neglect.
- Liaison: Act as the liaison with police and other emergency services as needed.
- Training and Meetings: Participate in all training and staff meetings, and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Security Guard Registration: Possess a New York State Security Guard Registration Card.
- Security Training: Hold a 16 Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training Certificate.
- First Aid and CPR: Possess a First Aid / CPR Certificate (preferred).
- Fire Safety: Possess a New York Fire Department Certificate of Fitness as Fire Guard, Shelters (preferred).
- Communication Skills: Possess strong oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
- Technology Skills: Be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology.
- Physical Ability: Possess the ability to climb 120 standard stairs within 2 minutes, drag an 80-pound canvas bag 30 feet on a tile floor within 30 seconds, lift a 40-pound bucket and place it on a standard height table within 30 seconds, and stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time.
- Travel: Be able to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation.
