Key Responsibilities- Facility Security: Ensure the security of the premises, perform access control, and enforce facility, BronxWorks, and Department of Homeless Services policies.
- Foot Patrols: Conduct regular and frequent foot patrols of the entire facility to identify and address potential security risks.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, assess the situation, and take necessary actions to ensure the safety of people and property.
- Reporting and Documentation: Log, document, and verbally report activities, actions, and concerns to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Supervision and Training: Supervise and train Safety Monitors, provide guidance and support, and ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively.
- Education and Certifications: High School Diploma or equivalent, New York State Security Guard Registration Card, 16 Hour On-The-Job Security Guard Training Certificate, First Aid/CPR Certificate, and New York Fire Department Certificate of Fitness as Fire Guard, Shelters.
- Skills and Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build trust and effective professional relationships, ability to write clear and concise reports and emails, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology.
- Physical Demands: Ability to climb stairs regularly, drag at least 80 pounds, lift at least 40 pounds, stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, and travel throughout New York City via public transportation.
