Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Carle Health. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Registered Nurses and Licensed Practical Nurses in providing patient care and unit maintenance activities.
- Perform patient care activities as delegated by the Nurse, utilizing applicable policies and procedures to ensure patient needs and expectations are met.
- Provide hygiene, nutritional, and elimination needs of assigned patients.
- Provide skin care and comfort measures to assigned patients.
- Perform additional skills as directed and supervised by the Nurse, after training and certification.
- Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
- Complete assigned aspects of admission process, including vital signs, height and weight, room setup, and room orientation.
- Set up equipment for care and store and transfer patient belongings.
- Make rounds to ensure patient comfort and satisfaction.
- Respect patient privacy and report pertinent patient information to the Nurse in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Completion of CNA coursework within the past 24 months.
- Basic computer knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and web browser.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
