We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Shift Supervisor to join our team at the Eagle Lake Children's Center. As a Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for the direct supervision of youth in care, as well as direct supervision of Youth Care Workers. Your primary goal will be to ensure the daily programming activities are provided during the course of your shift.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate documentation of employees under your direct supervision.
- Ensure direct care staff adhere to the ORR Policy and Procedures for the care of minors.
- Provide floor coverage when needed.
- Complete annual performance appraisals of employees under your direct supervision.
- Develop positive relationships with the children while serving as a role model to create a safe and caring environment.
- Ensure all required shift paperwork is completed in a timely manner and entered into Vision Link and/or the UAC portal.
- Assist with the Education department in coordinating special educational events and educational field trips.
- Assist with approved weekend outings for the children.
- Ensure vocational classes are taught based on the provided curriculum.
- Ensure children receive Physical Education and Large Muscle activities according to the Daily operational schedule.
- Ensure the Daily operational schedule is followed.
- Maintain open and consistent communication with the Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Proficiency in Spanish/English (written and spoken language skills) is required.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google tools is preferred.
- Must pass a TB test annually.
- Must pass a drug screen.
- Must be physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing assigned tasks and have the skills necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Must pass a criminal history screen, including state and local child protection agency registries.
- Ability to work independently and exercise a high level of confidentiality.
- Affidavit for Applicants for Employment with a Licensed Operation or Registered Children's Home is required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 1 year of experience working with children either through paid employment or volunteer work.
- Supervisor experience is preferred.
