Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate In-House Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for facilitating all aspects of organ donation, including evaluating patient suitability, coordinating organ placement and allocation, and providing support to donor families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluating Patient Suitability: Review medical records and consult with medical staff to determine patient suitability for organ donation.
  • Organ Placement and Allocation: Coordinate with transplant programs and surgeons to ensure timely and safe organ placement and allocation.
  • Surgical Recovery and Peri-Operative Management: Assist in the surgical recovery of organs and manage logistics, including transportation, surgical packaging, and lab specimen preparation.
  • Donor Family Support: Provide emotional support and conduct medical/social history interviews with donor families.
  • Donation Metrics and Protocol Development: Partner with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policies.
  • Education and Training: Develop and present educational programs and status reports to hospital staff and leadership.
  • Donor Information Management: Update donor information in electronic medical records.
Requirements
  • Experience: Two plus years of experience in a critical care setting, preferably as a registered nurse (RN).
  • Skills: Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Certifications: Valid RN license and a valid driver's license with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
