Job Title: In-house Recovery Coordinator

Sierra Donor Services is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate In-house Recovery Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our organ donation team, you will play a critical role in facilitating the lifesaving gift of organ transplantation.

Job Summary:

The In-house Recovery Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of organ donation, including evaluating patient suitability, coordinating organ placement and allocation, and providing support to donor families. This is a dynamic and challenging role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate patient suitability for organ donation by reviewing medical records and consulting with medical staff.
  • Coordinate organ placement and allocation with transplant programs and surgeons.
  • Coordinate and assist in the surgical recovery of organs and peri-operative management, including logistics such as arranging transportation and preparing lab specimens for shipment.
  • Provide support to donor families and conduct medical/social history interviews.
  • Partner with hospital leadership to improve donation metrics, protocols, and policy.
  • Develop and present hospital educational programs and status reports based on strategic goals.
  • Update donor information into electronic medical records.
Requirements:
  • Two plus years prior experience in a critical care setting.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and multitask.
  • Exceptional teamwork, interpersonal, communication, and conflict management skills.
  • Registered Nursing (RN) License.
  • Valid Driver's License with the ability to pass MVR underwriting requirements.
