Job Summary:
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a Physician and/or Designee. Your primary responsibilities will include interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording information in patient medical records. You will also prepare treatment rooms and patients for examination, assist clinicians with patient care, and inventory, order, and replenish medical supplies and materials.

Key Responsibilities:
Interviews patients and measures vital signs and other pertinent information as required by the department.
Records information in patient medical records.
Prepares treatment rooms and patients for examination.
Assists clinicians with patient care.
Inventories, orders, and replenishes medical supplies and materials.
Gives treatments and performs routine laboratory tests as required by the department.
Schedules appointments, performs clinical tasks, and completes appropriate forms as required by the department.
May be responsible for administering medications, including injections.
May be responsible for cleaning, processing, sterilizing, and checking instruments.
Performs computer data entry functions.
Performs clinical/technical skills specific to the department.

Customer Service:
As a Medical Assistant, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and colleagues. You will practice customer service standards as defined by Kaiser Permanente and specified department. This includes anticipating customer needs, taking proactive steps to meet those needs, and ensuring issues are resolved promptly. You will also facilitate the customer's ability to utilize resources and assure a clean, orderly, and functional work environment.

Team Commitment:
You will be an effective team member who is flexible, cooperative, and willing to assist others. You will manage difficult or conflict situations constructively and seek appropriate assistance. You will take accountability for your actions and act as a resource and mentor to new employees, students, and other team members. Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California.
Basic Life Support certification.
Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology.
Ability to effectively present information, both verbally and written.
Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
Demonstrated ability to use personal computer.
Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) Level I required.

This position is located at the Salinas Medical Offices and requires a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
