Job Summary

This role provides administrative and programmatic support for the Teacher Certification Program at the University of Connecticut Stamford campus. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Dean's Office personnel, faculty, and staff to ensure the effective implementation of the program's activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Director of the Teacher Certification Program with administrative tasks and support the program's operations.
  • Provide support to students, including responding to inquiries, explaining program policies and procedures, and managing special payroll and disbursements.
  • Coordinate clinical placements, fingerprinting, and background checks for students.
  • Manage rosters, grade reports, and academic records to ensure compliance with State of Connecticut Department of Education certification requirements.
  • Collect and analyze program and student data to prepare reports for the Neag School of Education Dean's Office.
  • Coordinate with offices of Student Affairs, Financial Aid, Admissions, and Advising to implement grant-funded activities.
  • Arrange honoraria and payments for Cooperating Teachers and Clinical Supervisors.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two to three years of related experience in administrative and/or programmatic support.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work effectively and independently, with regular exercise of judgment regarding administrative matters.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work on weekends and evenings, and occasionally travel to other campuses as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Bilingual and biliteracy skills in Spanish/English.
  • Minimum of two years of teaching or counseling experience in public higher education and/or data analysis and system technical support.
  • Experience in federal grant project management, including U.S. Department of Education grants.
  • Experience working in a higher education institution and with students and faculty.
Appointment Terms

This is a full-time, end-dated position located at the Stamford campus with the possibility of renewal subject to performance and funding.
