Job Summary

Optum is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team in the Pacific West region. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating radiologic equipment to produce high-quality clinical diagnostic X-ray images.

Key Responsibilities
  • Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic x-rays for the detection of breast tumors.
  • Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views of specified areas of the body.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Move x-ray equipment into specified positions and adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Examine radiologic images for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
  • Process radiographic images and send them to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to strict confidentiality protocols.
  • Participate in professional development activities and maintain professional affiliations.
Requirements
  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school.
  • Current Oregon license in Diagnostic Radiography.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Current healthcare level CPR/BLS certification.
  • At least one year of mammography experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Epic and PACS experience.
