The Property Risk Engineering division at Zurich is on the lookout for a seasoned Property Risk Account Engineer with expertise in Highly Protected Risk (HPR). This position is primarily focused on account engineering tasks, with opportunities for occasional fieldwork based on specialized industry knowledge.

This role offers the flexibility of remote work, primarily for candidates located in the Midwest region, including areas such as Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the complexity of various risks in accordance with established standards and competency levels, while assessing potential losses based on agreed definitions.
  • Assist external clients by identifying and mitigating the risks they encounter, both individually and on an overall account level.
  • Deliver risk enhancement recommendations, conduct loss investigations (including trend and root cause analysis), and implement risk improvement initiatives.
  • Share technical knowledge with colleagues, business partners, and clients through training sessions or participation in Centers of Expertise or industry segments.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards regarding the technical quality of policies and procedures in all produced work.
  • Proactively recognize and address customer needs by providing expert solutions and training to key clients.
  • Contribute to business profitability by identifying opportunities and promoting cross-selling.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with clients and business partners, collaborating to create effective service plans.
  • Resolve technical challenges and projects in relation to policies and procedures within a specific function or unit.

Final candidates will undergo a Motor Vehicle Record background check, as this position involves the use of a company vehicle.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering field, including experience in an account engineer capacity
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 8 years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering field, including experience in an account engineer capacity
    OR
  • Zurich Certified Apprentice with an Associate's degree and a minimum of 6 years of experience in the Property Risk Engineering field, including experience in an account engineer capacity
    AND
  • Experience in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • In-depth knowledge of exposure controls.
  • Expertise within specific industry segments.
  • Familiarity with the primary Steel and/or Aluminum industries.
  • Certification in a relevant specialty; Risk Engineering.
