Job Overview
The Senior Process Engineer will evaluate and enhance manufacturing processes by employing industry best practices to strategize, develop, budget, and implement improvement initiatives aimed at reducing costs while enhancing safety and quality, ultimately leading to superior customer service and increased profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize engineering methodologies to assess and support the enhancement of manufacturing processes and products, aligning with HWI's Lean and HarbisonWalker Business System (HBS) initiatives.
- Drive efficiency improvements, minimize inconsistencies, eliminate waste, and reduce downtime to boost Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE).
- Lead and manage projects (both process and capital) focused on cost reduction and improving customer experiences through the application of engineering best practices and Lean/Six Sigma tools.
- Collaborate with Operations to establish best practices and standard operating procedures to resolve manufacturing challenges, initiate productivity enhancements, and promote maintenance excellence.
- Analyze plant KPI monitoring systems and identify opportunities for improvement to meet or exceed corporate objectives.
- Prepare accurate expenditure proposals and cost justification analyses with management guidance, presenting findings to relevant plant and corporate leadership.
- Compile reports to document process statuses and changes.
- Provide training, guidance, and consultation to site production, maintenance, and engineering teams to support technical development and ensure program integration for efficient operations.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred).
- Demonstrated motivation and innovative thinking.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation abilities across all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and AutoCAD software.
- Experience with Lean and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent collaboration, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a proven track record of implementing improvements that positively impact organizational results and customer satisfaction.
- Relationship-building and change management expertise.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and similar standards.
- Proven ability to lead change initiatives and drive process excellence in diverse environments.
- Experience in data analysis, operations management, and business intelligence tools.
- Coaching skills to support front-line employees and supervisors/managers.
