Job Overview

The role of the Correspondence Specialist I involves the meticulous handling and input of medical claims, ensuring precision and adherence to turnaround expectations. This position plays a crucial role in supporting the objectives of the Setup department while fostering personal development and contributing to the mission of CorVel Healthcare Corporation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Verify eligibility of bills for MCS assessment
  • Organize and manage bills for timely entry
  • Accurately input bills into the internal database
  • Communicate any special requirements for claims processing
  • Maintain production standards and meet performance metrics
  • Follow established protocols for addressing problematic claims
  • Manage high-profile client accounts, including production, quality control, and communications
  • Provide training for new team members
  • Serve as a backup for filter or filter leads
  • Exhibit punctuality and consistent attendance
  • Be prepared to work overtime as necessary
  • Support colleagues and management in achieving production targets
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations in all communications and tasks
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 1 year of experience in an office setting
  • Experience in data entry is preferred

COMPENSATION:

CorVel employs a market-driven approach to compensation, with salary ranges varying based on location and other factors. Pay rates are determined by federal, state, and local minimum wage laws, geographic differentials, job-related skills, experience, qualifications, internal equity, and market conditions. Adjustments to salary ranges may occur at any time.

For roles categorized by levels (I, II, III, Senior, Lead, etc.), new hires may be assigned to a different level based on an assessment during the interview process, considering experience and qualifications. This level may influence the salary range, and details will be clarified during the offer stage.

Pay Rate: $19.43 per hour
