Job Description
The Claims Supervisor oversees the corporate claims process for assigned specialty area (i.e., Casualty or Cargo). Supervision includes, but is not limited to: investigating, reporting, and guiding stakeholders (e.g., sites, carriers, clients, third party administrators, employees) through the entire claims process.
- Works with Claims Manager to define and implement standardized processes, guidelines, and policies. Updates as necessary to ensure accuracy with changing business needs and regulatory environments.
- Gathers information and prepares quality KPI reports in a timely manner.
- Analyzes and interprets score card component data for review with the Claims Manager.
- Creates and interprets claims trend information and claim reports for Operations and/or Clients.
- Resolves claims successfully by guiding applicable parties based on claim type through claims issues.
- Prepares, summarizes, and presents Large Loss Review Reports for discussion with senior Risk and Business Leadership.
- Consults with Regional Managers, Vice Presidents, and/or Sector Presidents on claims-related issues.
- Assists key stakeholders (e.g., operations, agents, TPA's, etc.) with audits, training, systems, issues, and other challenges as necessary.
- Provides supervision to Claims Coordinators in the analysis and processing of claims. Trains Claims Coordinators in the appropriate methods of gathering and recording information and documentation related to claims and/or losses, developing reports, and making disposition decisions.
- Ensures compliance with standard policies, procedures, and regulations in the processing of claims. Conducts periodic audits of coordinators work for KPI measurement.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, required
- Professional certification and / or licensure as applicable to assigned specialty area, preferred
- 4+ years' of claims coordination experience in assigned specialty area, required
- 6 months+ experience in a supervisory role, preferred
Role will also assist with Quality related investigations into operational discrepencies. Role will require investigation experience getting to root cause and working with operations on improvement actions, Role will be required to coordinated meetings, actions and speak to varying layers of leadership. Additionally, role may be required to support operations/warehuose with customer invoices and related traffic documentation.
