About the Role

As a paratransit Mechanic with GVC II, a First Student company, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing transit vehicles. This includes assisting with preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual DOT maintenance inspections.

  • Diagnose and perform all phases of vehicle and equipment repair including brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, & transmissions.
  • Ensure work orders are completed accurately.
  • Assist with mobile emergency services.

We offer a competitive salary of $23 - $24 per hour based on experience and qualifications, as well as an additional $0.25 per hour for each ASE certification you possess or obtain. Company-paid ASE testing and training materials are also provided.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid driver's license; willingness to obtain CDL while employed – We train.
  • At least 3 years of automotive or diesel maintenance & repair experience or technical school education.
  • A mechanic's tool set.
  • The willingness to participate in ASE certification program. Training, testing, and bonuses provided.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
