Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanic to join our team at Brothers Paving & Concrete Corporation. As a Lead Mechanic, you will be responsible for supervising, training, and leading a team of shop mechanics in the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and diagnose issues with diesel engines and other machinery
  • Perform complex repairs on heavy equipment, including pavers, millers, rollers, and bobcats
  • Oversee the work of shop mechanics and provide guidance and training as needed
  • Responsible for welding repairs and creating metal items
  • Work on field service calls with a focus on quality and urgency
  • Mentor mechanics on correct repair methods
  • Document and maintain records of maintenance performed
  • Lead by example and demonstrate high-level leadership skills
  • Ensure a clean driving record and maintain safety protocols
  • Stay up-to-date on internal and external training certifications
  • Communicate effectively with management on equipment repairs and parts needed
  • Work collaboratively with the team and be willing to train and be trained
  • Maintain good relationships with colleagues and represent Brothers Paving & Concrete Corporation professionally
Requirements
  • Skilled and proficient in small engine repairs
  • Skilled and proficient in large tractor truck diesels, including CAT and CUMMINS engines
  • Experienced working on Bobcats/skid steer equipment
  • Advanced skills with hydraulic systems and hydraulic schematics
Working Conditions
  • Constantly standing or sitting for prolonged periods
  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks at a worksite or moving from one worksite to another
  • Constantly adjusting, moving, and lifting objects in all directions
  • Constantly talking and hearing to communicate with others
  • Constantly seeing to perform job duties at close range and at a distance
  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like
