C&J Well Services, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Well Services department, you will be responsible for reviewing logistics of additive preparation, mixing, and pumping, and making recommendations to ensure fluids can be mixed and pumped as designed.
Key Responsibilities- Logistics Review: Review logistics of additive preparation, mixing, and pumping to ensure fluids can be mixed and pumped as designed.
- Field Monitoring: Travel to job sites to monitor additive performance and verify fluid design.
- Testing and Analysis: Perform tests to verify fluid design, including confirming cement slurry design and/or stimulation fluid design with field blends.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintain laboratory equipment in good working order.
- Quality Control: Perform product Quality Assurance/Quality Control for critical jobs.
- Reporting: Follow test procedures, results, and reports on unknown scales and produced solids and fluids from oil and gas wells, to determine their chemical composition and remedial treatments.
- Documentation: Follow well services documentation and reporting procedures for laboratory data and HSE events.
- Calculations: Perform all normal laboratory calculations for the services being developed.
- Time Management: Complete all tasks in a timely manner.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of 18 months in a position that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of relevant API test specifications, laboratory testing equipment, and ability to run all laboratory equipment.
- Skills: Ability to handle complex mechanical devices, communicate effectively with all levels of employees, and be self-directed and self-motivated.
This is a primarily office work environment with occasional travel to job sites. The job requires standing, sitting, walking, typing, and twisting as necessary. May be required to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 80 pounds; infrequently lift, carry, push, and pull over 80 pounds.
