Job Description:

As a Pharmacist (Full or Part Time) at Walgreens, you will play a critical role in providing pharmacy consulting services to patients, ensuring the proper compounding, dispensation, review, and verification of prescribed medications within regulatory guidelines, company policies, and procedures. You will also be responsible for supporting the efficient workflow of the pharmacy and assisting the pharmacy manager in identifying ways to optimize pharmacy financials, inventory management, and enhance patient experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
Resolve patient issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
Model and share customer service best practices with all team members to deliver a distinctive and joyful experience.
Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
Participate and assist in events that reflect the unique communities we serve as requested by Store Manager, Healthcare Supervisor, District Manager, or Pharmacy Manager.

Operations:

Counsel patients and answer their questions regarding usage of medicine, side effects, interactions, contraindications, patient information privacy, generics, less expensive medicines, over-the-counter products, and refer to medical provider as needed to ensure medication is taken correctly, health needs addressed, and satisfaction with service.
Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, verification, and medication management.
Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations, company policies, and standards.

People & Performance Management:

Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
Reinforce the direction of Pharmacy Manager in staff performance by coaching, and providing constructive feedback, monitoring customer service, and fostering team member development.
Promote teamwork and motivate team members by establishing expectations, monitors and recognizes progress, and fosters a shared vision.

Training & Personal Development:

Maintain current knowledge and required licensing/credentialing/certification as established by federal and state regulations to provide such clinical services.
Maintain current knowledge and skills related to pharmacy and healthcare by reading pharmacy-related journals, company publications, and communications.
Obtain necessary certifications, education credits, and training, including learning modules, as required by the Company.
Seek professional development by monitoring one's performance, soliciting for constructive feedback, and leveraging pharmacy manager and store manager as mentor and coach.
