Job Summary
The role of the Social Worker focused on Supported Decision Making (SDM) involves providing assistance to individuals who do not qualify as 'incapacitated' under guardianship laws. This position is dedicated to supporting those who choose to engage in supported decision-making processes. Additionally, the Social Worker will play a crucial role in educating the community about SDM by collaborating with service providers and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to individuals seeking services, including access to information and referrals.
- Participate in various meetings, collect data, and complete necessary documentation and reporting as mandated by state grants.
- Attend required training sessions and meetings as instructed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, along with two years of experience working with vulnerable populations. A valid driver's license is mandatory.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Master's degree in Social Work and prior experience as a county social worker is highly desirable.
Additional Information
HOURS: Full-time (40 hours per week), typically between 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, with flexible scheduling options. Occasional weekend, holiday, or evening hours may be required.
This position is Grant Funded and is expected to last approximately one year.
Rice County offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, life insurance, pension, holiday, vacation, sick leave, and long-term disability insurance. Employees may also qualify for the Public Service Student Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.
