Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team in Falls Church, Virginia.

Job Summary

The Diagnostic Imaging Technical Specialist provides clinical services in multiple modalities, adhering to Imaging practice standards, with equal time spent in each modality, based on OU needs, while acting as a resource to Imaging Students and other technologists to ensure optimal department functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Imaging Expertise: Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Imaging principles, theory, anatomy, and pathology processes while utilizing the most appropriate techniques and/or positioning for optimal examinations, as demonstrated by exam results.
  • Patient Care: Communicates effectively with patients to obtain clinical history/informed consent from patients, or patients' charts, to assist the physician in optimizing the performance and interpretation of the examination, as evidenced by the exam results.
  • Radiation Protection: Demonstrates the effective use of radiation protection procedures with collimation devices and protective shielding, as evidenced by incidence reports.
  • Quality Control: Performs and documents routine quality control testing of equipment. Performs/recognizes the need for routine maintenance of imagers/processors to maintain consistent quality images, as evidenced by the physician and exam results.
  • Section Operation: Assists in the development, review, and implementation of policies/procedures. Demonstrates creativity in section operation skills, decision-making skills, and contingency planning preparation, as evidenced by effective problem resolution.
Requirements
  • Certification: Basic Life Support Upon Start within 3 Months of hire; Upon start, ARRT registered as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain advanced certification in applicable modality within one year of training.
  • Licensure: Upon start, must be licensed as required by the state of employment if employed at an Inova Health System free standing Imaging Center not affiliated with one of the Inova hospitals.
  • Experience: One year of experience as Radiologic Technologist
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited school/program of radiography.
