Job Summary:

UNC Health is seeking a highly skilled Cardiac Sonographer II to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing cardiac ultrasound procedures, maintaining equipment, and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform high-quality cardiac ultrasound procedures, including echocardiograms and vascular studies, to diagnose and monitor cardiovascular conditions.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and image quality.
  • Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient care, including assessment, emergency care, and transport.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with the latest imaging technologies and techniques.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and exceptional patient care.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in Sonography, Radiology, or a related field, or completion of a 12-month ultrasound program.
  • Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or registry eligible with the ability to register within one year.
  • One year of experience in an acute hospital setting, with a strong background in cardiac ultrasound and patient care.
