Job Title: Linux/Windows Systems Administrator

GAMA-1 Technologies is seeking a skilled Linux/Windows Systems Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of our IT systems within Linux and Windows infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and maintain IT systems within Linux and Windows infrastructures
  • Understand and implement hardening/STIG policies as defined by client and industry standards
  • Manage Windows system administration, including Active Directory, group policy, and DNS for multi-site environments
  • Manage VMware vSphere, including vCenter and ESXi, for multi-site environments
  • Configure and manage Linux/Windows operating system software within physical ESXi virtual infrastructures and cloud-based Virtual Machines (VMs)
  • Manage software upgrades, patches, and hot fixes on Linux/Windows servers, workstations, using tools such as WSUS, Satellite, and BigFix
  • Collaborate with other teams to develop automation strategies and deployment processes
  • Identify issues and create improvement processes to reduce incident outage times
  • Develop and maintain O&M Standard Operating Procedures for developed capabilities
  • Write and edit scripts in Python, Perl, PowerShell, Java, C, and other languages
  • Utilize JIRA in an Agile development environment
  • Support development and maintenance of automated testing
Requirements:
  • Systems administration experience administering user accounts, performing server subsystem configuration, network management, installation of software, performing backups, configuration management, and general system maintenance
  • Windows system administration experience with 2016/2019 Server, Active Directory topology, DNS, GPO management
  • Linux system administration experience with RHEL 7/8 Server
  • Understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Microsoft Windows and Linux desktop systems, performance tuning, and capacity planning of servers
  • Experience with server ESXi VMware virtualization methodologies
  • Experience working in an Agile development environment
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering processes
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Desired Qualifications:
  • IBM BigFix (TEM) experience
  • Experience with basic network protocols
  • Experience with cloud-based technologies, such as Amazon Web Services
  • Experience implementing hardware architecture
  • Understanding of analytical needs and requirements for clients
  • Experience supporting client meetings and participating in client requirement reviews and meetings
  • Experience analyzing new hardware/software needs
  • Familiarity with the Atlassian tool suite, including Jira, Insight, Confluence, Risk Register, Crucible, Bitbucket, Git, and other tools
  • Familiarity with working within a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a willingness to foster strong relationships with coworkers and vendors
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to dynamically tailor communications effectively to different levels of the organization
