POSITION TITLE:
Certified Pediatric Therapy Assistant
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Certified Pediatric Therapy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting licensed Physical Therapists (PTs) in helping children recover from physical injuries or illnesses. This position focuses on assisting patients in regaining their range of motion and managing pain effectively.
Under the supervision of the PT, the assistant will implement treatment plans that may include stretching, strength training, and various therapeutic exercises aimed at facilitating recovery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver physical therapy interventions in accordance with the established treatment plan.
- Engage in effective communication with the healthcare team regarding patient progress and any concerns.
- Document daily treatment activities and contribute to progress notes and discharge summaries in a timely manner.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper management of patient records.
- Accurately record treatment charges and maintain billing documentation.
- Oversee the activities of Physical Therapy Aides in patient care as required.
- Respond appropriately to urgent situations following established protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organized treatment area, including exam rooms and supplies.
- Exhibit professionalism in appearance and conduct at all times.
- Adhere to Family Solutions Clinical policies and procedures.
- Foster positive working relationships with colleagues and management.
- Maintain regular clinic hours as approved by the manager.
- Participate in team meetings as requested.
