Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Structural Engineer to join our Bridges and Structures team in Portland, Maine or Auburn, New Hampshire. The successful candidate will lead bridge design projects of varying size and complexity, develop design plans, technical specifications, and construction cost estimates, and guide junior and intermediate staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with clients and project stakeholders to determine project requirements and approvals;
  • Develop and present information to clients and the public;
  • Prepare, check, and deliver engineering calculations, reports, and technical studies;
  • Guide and mentor junior and intermediate staff;
  • Carry out constructability reviews during the design of conventionally procured projects;
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure quality design and teamwork.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer required;
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a bridge engineering technical lead role;
  • Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications;
  • Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule;
  • Effective verbal, visual, and written communication skills.
