Speech Language Pathologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Lilac City Behavioral Services. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one services to our students with special needs, helping them to develop effective communication skills and overcome challenges related to speech and language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluation and Treatment: Conduct thorough evaluations and assessments to identify individual communication needs, develop personalized treatment plans, and provide evidence-based interventions to support student progress.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with our interdisciplinary team, including Special Education Teachers, BCBA, and Behavior Technicians, to ensure seamless communication and coordination of services.
  • Student Progress Monitoring: Collect and analyze data to assess student progress toward identified learning targets and IEP goals, making adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
  • IEP Goal Development: Collaborate with IEP teams to develop and implement IEP goals, ensuring alignment with internal and external compliance timelines and instructional standards.
Requirements:
  • Education: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) or related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of experience as an SLP, with a proven track record of working with individuals with severe behavior.
  • Skills: Effective oral and written communication, organizational, and public relations skills, with the ability to function as part of an interdisciplinary team.
Working Environment:

Lilac City Behavioral Services is committed to providing a safe and supportive work environment. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will work in a hybrid setting, with limited travel or 100% virtual options available. You will be exposed to moderate and occasional loud noise from students, toys, and normal school equipment, as well as potential exposure to secretions, saliva, blood, urine, and feces.
