About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Manager to join our team at KnowHireMatch. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading and managing our facility security team and guard force, ensuring effective execution of security processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the facility security team and guard force, ensuring effective execution of security processes.
  • Develop and administer site security practices and policies, aligning them with organizational goals.
  • Track and support key performance indicators (KPIs), including training objectives and the timely completion of site surveys and audits.
  • Serve as the technical expert for cross-functional teams, ensuring safe operational processes and successful capital/engineering projects.
  • Interpret and apply regulations from OSHA, NFPA, DHS, DOT, and other relevant bodies to maintain compliance.
  • Promote safety awareness among the hourly workforce, addressing and resolving safety issues and concerns.
  • Develop and lead the site safety business plan by analyzing data and tracking/reporting facility and corporate KPIs.
  • Conduct internal safety and security audits, ensuring findings are addressed and corrective actions are implemented.
  • Oversee investigations of safety and security incidents, determining root causes and developing effective corrective actions.
  • Act as a key member of the incident command team, responding to and directing emergency response activities as needed.
  • Liaise with third-party assessors, auditors, and inspectors, including insurance carriers, local fire departments, and regulatory agencies.
  • Partner with occupational health teams to enhance worker safety, wellness, and case management.
  • Support worker's compensation processes, collaborating with occupational health nurses and third-party administrators to manage claims effectively.
  • Keep the management team informed about safety, health, and security-related issues within your scope of responsibility.
  • Foster strong relationships with all levels of the organization, ensuring open communication and continuous improvement in safety practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively increasing safety and security responsibilities, with at least 1-2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse teams, including hourly workers, technical personnel, senior management, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations issued by OSHA, workers' compensation, and other governmental bodies.
  • Proven ability to analyze and synthesize data to support and drive safety initiatives.
  • Highly developed planning and organizational skills.
  • Direct personnel management experience.
