Job Summary:

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at SSM Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by operating a scanner to obtain images used to diagnose and treat various pathologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and position patients accurately to produce high-quality cross-sectional images of the body.
  • Perform patient pre-screening, scheduling, and education related to the examination.
  • Enter and monitor patient data and transfer images.
  • Administer contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents sent to PACS (image quality, correct lead markers and patient data/history).
  • Ensure equipment is properly functioning and report potential problems or equipment malfunctions to appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, dressing rooms, film storage area, and other areas.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

Requirements:

  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • No experience required, but relevant experience is preferred.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • ARRT-MR Magnetic Resonance Imaging certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
