Job Title: Director, Security Engineering

Osaic is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Security Engineering and Operations to lead our security team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and executing the overall security strategy, managing security engineering projects, and overseeing day-to-day security operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive security strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead and mentor a team of security engineers and operations specialists.
  • Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and day-to-day management of security systems, including EDR solutions, SIEM systems, vulnerability management systems, email security systems, etc.
  • Support the Security Operations Center (SOC) efforts during security incidents.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to information security.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, software developers, and other stakeholders to integrate security practices into the development lifecycle.
  • Promote security awareness and training to employees on security best practices.
  • Manage the security budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately.
  • Provide metrics and reporting on control coverage and control effectiveness.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, high school diploma (or equivalent) in combination with significant practical experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Advanced trouble-shooting and subject matter expertise with a variety of information security related technologies.
  • Effective in analyzing and developing options to balance business needs with security vulnerabilities.
  • Skilled at building strong relationships, both internally with business and technology leaders and other leaders of the information security team, and externally with service providers and business partners.
  • Strong familiarity with security issues surrounding web application security and experience in testing such applications for vulnerabilities.
  • Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional, interdisciplinary teams to achieve tactical and strategic goals.
  • Experience assessing third parties for infrastructure security controls and general security practices.
  • Experience developing and implementing security policies and/or standards.
  • Familiarity with security issues surrounding network computing and experience in implementation of security systems and controls.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft and/or Linux operating systems and related applications.
  • Strong understanding of multiple networking protocols (TCP/IP, etc.) and networking concepts.
  • Strong understanding of OS and network security.
  • Experience with deploying and securing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Ability to research, analyze and resolve complex problems with minimal supervision and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to partner with and influence a variety of stakeholders to ensure security requirements are understood and met.
  • Able to work independently and be a self-starter; managing multiple tasks according to priorities; results oriented and proven ability to meet deadlines.
