Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at Tredegar Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our film extrusion and slitting machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on film extrusion and slitting equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and implement effective solutions.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of machinery.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with production teams regarding the machine operating conditions of all machines.
  • Contractor Management: Work with outside contractors to ensure proper job completion.
  • Safety and Housekeeping: Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to company safety protocols and procedures.
  • Process Improvement: Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement to enhance overall efficiency and product quality.
Requirements
  • Education: HS Diploma, Vocational/Technical Certificate, or equivalent of 3-5 years of maintenance experience.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, preferably in a manufacturing setting with film extrusion and slitting equipment.
  • Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, hydraulics and pneumatics. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of the team.
  • Work Schedule: Ability to work nights on a 12-hour shifts and 36/48 hours schedule.
